Happy Friday!!

I will not be sending out an email next week since it is a three day week, therefore you will get two weeks of information today! I have some sad news, we will not be able to go to the theatres for the movie Wonder. The Wing Theatre couldn’t get that movie and the theatres in Bismarck start showings at 4:30. So, we will just have to wait until Wonder comes out on Red Box and watch it in class! You can take your student to see it in theatres; I wouldn’t want to wait either! Just as long as they don’t give anything away!!

For Science, we have been working on Lesson 4, which is about measuring length. We have been using different tools (tape measure, ruler, meter stick, etc.) and deciding which measuring tool fits for different items. Lesson 4 will be finished on Monday and entered into the grade book on Monday.

For Social Studies, we have still been learning about communities. This week, we talked about the city called Timbuktu located in Africa. We have compared and contrasted these two communities, and found that Africa is a lot different than America. We also did an activity about zooming in on our location from outer space to help the students understand the difference between a continent, country, state, and city. These two activities have been combined together and entered into the grade book. On Tuesday, we will work on a scholastic news and learn more about Thanksgiving before the long weekend.

On Wednesday morning we will do an art assignment. On Wednesday, I will be sending home three sets of art work, all themed for Thanksgiving.

For your students math and reading updates, please check your weekly email!

Have a wonderful weekend and a fun filled Thanksgiving!
