Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

We will be having a St. Patrick’s Day party tomorrow. I am very excited to see what the leprechaun has in store for our classroom!

Tomorrow is the end of the 3rd quarter, so I will be entering final grades. These will be printed and sent in the mail to you.

In social studies, we completed chapter 8 lesson 3 and tomorrow we will do chapter 8 lesson 4. Lesson 3 has been graded, and will be entered into the grade book soon! In the Social studies curriculum there are 12 chapters, so we have 4 more chapters left (12 lessons) after this week that need to be complete before the end of the year (9 weeks left). We usually get through 2 lessons a week, therefore we should finish social studies in 6 weeks with 3 extra weeks of cushion.  The cushion weeks can include the testing weeks or last the week of school that we might not get to social studies as scheduled. It looks like we are right on track and can relax and thoroughly finish this curriculum!

In Science, we have finished a science experiment and Unit 8 Lesson 1. These will be graded and entered into the grade book by tomorrow afternoon! In science there are 10 units with various amounts of lessons in each. Total, we have 9 lessons left which is a little less than social studies and we will definitely finish this on time as well.

Of course, after we finish the social studies and science curriculum, I will have supplementary lessons until the end of the year. The good news is that the curriculum is the same throughout the grades, so they wont be behind going into next year, they will be on level and ready. The supplemental lessons will be lessons that I create, they will be fun and will touch on topics that we might have had a tougher time with.

Thank you and have a great weekend!
