Ban

The Wing Public School District is committed to fostering a focused and positive learning environment for all students. In accordance with a new North Dakota state law, the district has adopted a policy that prohibits the use of personal electronic communication devices during instructional time.

Starting this school year, students will be required to keep personal devices such as cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, and similar electronics silenced and securely stored throughout the entire school day—from the first bell to dismissal. This includes class time, recess, lunch, and passing periods.

The goal of this policy is to reduce distractions, enhance student engagement, and promote meaningful interactions in the classroom. The district recognizes the importance of technology and has made exceptions for school-issued devices and accommodations for medical or educational needs.

To help families understand the new rules and the steps the district will take if the policy is violated, a detailed letter has been sent to all parents. The letter outlines the expectations and disciplinary measures for repeated violations.

We encourage all families to review the letter carefully to support your student in adhering to the new guidelines. Together, we can ensure a respectful and focused learning atmosphere for every student.
