Wing Public School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Agricultural Education Teacher to join our team. As an Agricultural Education Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of agricultural leaders by providing hands-on instruction, fostering a love for agriculture, and preparing students for successful careers in the industry. This position also may include an extended contract and an FFA advisor contract. Classes will be taught in a recently built agriculture classroom that provides all the field resources and tools.
Job Responsibilities include:
1. Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and educational goals.
2. Teach a variety of agricultural subjects, including agronomy, animal science, horticulture, agricultural mechanics, and welding.
3. Conduct practical demonstrations and experiments to enhance students' understanding of agricultural concepts.
4. Organize and supervise extracurricular activities such as FFA, agricultural competitions, and field trips.
5. Provide guidance and mentorship to students interested in pursuing careers in agriculture.
6. Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate agricultural concepts into interdisciplinary curriculum.
7. Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessment results.
8. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student performance and classroom activities.
9. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with industry trends and teaching best practices.
10. Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Education, Agriculture, or a related field.
2. Valid teaching license/certification in Agricultural Education or willingness to obtain licensure.
3. Strong knowledge of agricultural principles, practices, and technologies.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Demonstrated ability to engage and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
6. Prior teaching experience preferred but not required.
7. Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.
8. Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and community stakeholders.

Through a grant and collaboration with NASP, our students in grades 4-12 are able to learn archery skills in physical education class. This week kids learned some of the basics from Mr. Horner.
