Hello everyone! With winter weather right around the corner, I wanted to get this message out to our people regarding inclement weather and decisions regarding delays and closings.
This is what you can expect:
1) With our district being over 400 square miles, there can be quite a difference from one part of the district to another. Your input into what it’s like in your area is appreciated, I am happy to receive those messages from people. The conditions on the bus routes can vary as well.
2) Expect delays in busing during poor conditions. Please communicate with your driver often. This helps alleviate a lot of issues. Please note that if there is a risk of getting stuck, our buses will not attempt a pickup.
3) You will be informed regarding weather decisions via Apptegy, our online platform. This allows us to use voice calls, emails, texts, and mobile app notification for alerts. Once a decision is made, I first inform the principal and bus drivers and then the alert goes out. The goal is to inform families no later than 6:30 am of a delay or cancellation. This may not always be possible, but advanced noticed is the goal.
4) The decision to cancel or delay is based on a number of factors. Collaboration with county road officials and the county sheriff’s department is part of the decision-making process.
5) If a school day is cancelled, the goal will be to make the day up. We have a virtual instruction option that will be used if we end up with a high number of days missed. In-person instruction provides the optimal learning environment and make up days will be used as much as reasonably possible.
6) Please be sure your children are dressed appropriately for cold weather before they head out the door. This includes students that drive to school.
7) I may not always get the decision to delay, close, or let out early correct, but I will always err on the side of safety of our students and staff.
Please reach out with questions. You can always make a comment on our Facebook page. They are hidden from the public, but the administration can see them. Answering questions directly is much more effective than speculation and being incorrectly informed.
Thank you,
Ms. Kramer

Preschool fun! Sorting animals and talking about differences and similarities builds vocabulary and speaking skills. Creating patterns with blocks builds memory and helps them learn left to right and return sweep.

Due to predicted cold and wet weather tomorrow, we have moved our movie indoors. The movie will begin at 7:30. Doors will open at 7:00. There is no admission. There will be concessions. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs for an "outdoor" effect. This event is sponsored by the Wing High School seniors.
