Congratulations to all Wing FFA members who showed Ag Mechanics projects at the North Dakota State Fair.

NEW DATE: The sports meeting for parents and players has been changed from August 14 to August 15. Please mark your calendar.

Our junior -senior high school teachers have been hard at work the past two days working on curriculum and standards alignment.

Our office will be closed Thursday and Friday of this week, July 27th and 28th as the main office is being cleaned and prepared for the new school year.

Thank you to our 4th, 5th, and 6th graders that were able to make camp the last two days! They worked hard during the drills that taught them offense and defense skills needed for the game of football. It was also great to see our varsity players be positive role models through coaching and interacting with the youth. It was a fun filled camp and we are all looking forward to the season!

A mandatory parent-player football meeting will be held Tuesday, August 1 at 7:30pm for anyone entering grades 7-12 that are  interested in playing this fall. Congratulations to Callie as she made it to the short go at the National Finals High School Rodeo in 14th place. Championship round begins tonight at 7 pm.Good luck to Callie and to Team North Dakota !!

Football equipment checkout will be 5:45-6:15 on Monday, July 24 for those needing equipment for the the Junior High and High School Football Camp. Please park in the football & baseball field parking lot and enter the Ag Shop room on the backside of Washburn High School, which the door will be open. We would like to take this opportunity to introduce our new social studies teacher for the upcoming school year. We are very excited to welcome Ms. Gussiaas to the Wing Public School staff for the 2023-2024 school year. Here are some things about Ms. Gussiaas: I grew up on a farm in Carrington, ND. In 2021, I graduated from UND with both a History and Political Science degree. I now live just a few miles from Wing with my fiancé. I am excited to be a part of this community! A few fun facts about me: I love reading, spending time with my cat, and the outdoors. I love history—especially the government aspects. My last name is Norwegian and is pronounced Gush-hiss… but past students just called me Ms. G.”

Youth, Junior High, and High School Football Camp registration and payment are due today, June 10. Please mail in today if your child will be attending camp, along with emailing southernmcleanfootball@gmail.com stating that it will be in the mail. We would like to take this opportunity to introduce our new music teacher for the upcoming school year. We are very excited to welcome Mrs. Birnbaum to the Wing Public School staff for the 2023-2024 school year. Here are a few things about Mrs. Birnbaum: I grew up in Bismarck, and graduated from NDSU in 2021. I taught for two years in Rugby, and then decided to move closer to family. I am very excited to continue my career in Wing! A few fun facts about me: - I got married last November - I love drinking coffee - I love singing! - I am the 4th of 6 kids, and my family keeps growing!

Please join us for our open house on August 17th from 5 - 6:30 pm. We will have food, fun, and prizes! There will be an activity for the elementary students. There will break out sessions for incoming 6th graders and families, incoming freshman and families, and all incoming high schoolers and their families. We hope to see you then!!

Wing Public School students forming the RC track berm. We are having so much fun making this RC dirt track for the Wing community! They are all working so hard and doing a great job! Special thanks to Kasen Bosch, Taylor Matthews, Mr. Dockter and Mr. Schlafmann for helping to dig out the track area. If you are able to donate time/equipment we need help to move some more dirt around to level if up a bit and then cultivate the soil before the final track is formed.
