The mandatory football meeting for those interested in grades 7-12 has been moved to inside the Washburn School. Meeting will take place in the Old Gym. Please use door #4 (elementary office, southwest) to enter the school.
Our back -to-school event is Thursday, August 17th from 5:00 - 6:30. Please join us in meeting new teachers and saying hi to the familiar faces. There will be inflatables for the elementary kids. There will be a drawing for door prizes for students in grades 6-12 who attend.
Informational sessions will be held for the following groups:
- Incoming 6th graders & families - what to expect in junior high, classes, lockers, and other things at 5:15
- Incoming 9th graders and families - classes, credits, graduation requirements,
Choice Ready and other topics at 5:30
- Incoming 9th -12 graders - informational session on the North Dakota Scholarship for those who are interested. Incoming seniors, there will be information on the Academice/CTE scholarship option also. This will begin immediately after the 9th grade session.
Supper will be served 5:30 -6:30.

The first day of school is August 22, 2023! We are looking forward to another great year and welcoming back our students and meeting new families. If you are new to Wing please call or stop by the school to get registered if you haven't done so yet. The school office hours are back to normal business hours 8:00 -3:45 starting August 1.

NEW DATE: The sports meeting for parents and players has been changed from August 14 to August 15. Please mark your calendar.
Our junior -senior high school teachers have been hard at work the past two days working on curriculum and standards alignment.
Our office will be closed Thursday and Friday of this week, July 27th and 28th as the main office is being cleaned and prepared for the new school year.
Thank you to our 4th, 5th, and 6th graders that were able to make camp the last two days! They worked hard during the drills that taught them offense and defense skills needed for the game of football. It was also great to see our varsity players be positive role models through coaching and interacting with the youth. It was a fun filled camp and we are all looking forward to the season!

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce our new social studies teacher for the upcoming school year. We are very excited to welcome Ms. Gussiaas to the Wing Public School staff for the 2023-2024 school year. Here are some things about Ms. Gussiaas:
I grew up on a farm in Carrington, ND. In 2021, I graduated from UND with both a History and Political Science degree. I now live just a few miles from Wing with my fiancé. I am excited to be a part of this community!
A few fun facts about me:
I love reading, spending time with my cat, and the outdoors.
I love history—especially the government aspects.
My last name is Norwegian and is pronounced Gush-hiss… but past students just called me Ms. G.”
Youth, Junior High, and High School Football Camp registration and payment are due today, June 10.
